Advocacy
For Dade Art Educators Association (DAEA), art advocacy plays a crucial role in ensuring that the arts remain an integral part of school curricula and public life. Studies have shown that students involved in the arts perform better academically and are more engaged in school. Advocacy ensures that the arts are considered as important as other subjects, contributing to a holistic educational experience.
Call for Entries
The Dade Art Educators Association (DAEA) encourages you to enter your students' works in all M-DCPS Authentic Assessments.
These evaluations ask students to apply their knowledge and skills instead of relying solely on traditional tests or quizzes, authentic assessments allow students to demonstrate their abilities through creative tasks.
As a teaching artist, it’s just as important for you to continue practicing your craft as it is to teach it. By engaging with your own creative process, you not only grow as an artist but also inspire your students through example. We encourage all DAEA members to take advantage of the many art exhibitions we provide each year. These exhibitions offer a platform for you to showcase your work, connect with the art community, and demonstrate to your students the value of lifelong artistic practice.
Creative Corner

Teacher Feature
DAEA highlights the accomplishments, experiences, and teaching methods of an outstanding art educator and their contributions to their students, school, or community.
R.A.T.S

RATS meetups include lots of art and lunch while everyone else is at school working!
